Album entilted Risha, a collaboration of two legendary artists David Eugene Edwards and Alexander Hacke was released this June. Although, the musicians know each other for ages and collaborated before on the project Crime and The City Solution, as well as created together music for a movie project The Glasshouse, this is their first joint album.
Over the last two decades, David Eugene Edwards’ work in bands 16 Hosepower and Wovenhand inspired a generation of musicians. His music has always had a unique intensity and his rich, emotive voice is always the driving force of his music. Alexander Hacke is primarily known as a longtime member of German industrial music group Einstürzende Neubauten and considered as one of Germany’s most influential experimental artists.
’Risha’, which means ’feather’ in Arabic has become a symbol connecting various cultures. The sound of the album eludes descriptions and exceeds traditional terms. It is a vivid fusion of Americana, Neo-Folk, Industrial, Ambient, Electronic and Arabic Music. David Eugene Edwards recorded all vocals, guitars and string instruments, whereas Alexander Hacke played bass, drums, keyboards and electronics. Together they created an astonishing and hypnotical soundscape.
The artists will perform on 9th November during ⅩⅩⅦ Ars Cameralis Festival. If you want to see them live, stay tuned. All the details soon!
